Is this position something that has always interested you? If you find yourself questioning every word that is coming out of the employers mouth while they are interviewing you than this is a BIG red flag. During the interview process you want to make sure that you agree with what the interviewer is saying. Just because you have made it in the door and last night you were feeling positive about the position doesn’t mean that this feeling has lasted through today. If your gut is telling you to flee the scene, than this is something that you are going to have to consider.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging
Step1
Sometimes it is disappointing when an interview doesn’t go the way we expected it. But, this is ok. It happens to everyone. There are always things that we can look into better the next time. Don’t just take a position because it is offered to you. If you were expecting flowers and coffee then this is unrealistic. But, if you were expecting professionalism and you did not get it then this is not the right position for you. During an interview if you receive negative signs you need to make note of them. Usually, we are so caught up in ourselves that we just brush over warning signs. Don’t let this be you!
Step2
Make sure to go into an interview with a clear head. You need to take time to process all the information that is given to you over the course of the interview. When you go home that night it might be a good idea to write down all of the positive and negative aspects of the interview. This is something that you might do in your personal life as well. It’s as if you are asking whether or not to break up with him/her. This particular strategy is used in situations such as this because it works. The answer is usually staring you in the face.
Step3
If the negative outweighs the position this is not the right positive for you. There is not harm in deciding not to take a position that has been offered to you. In fact, you are not only helping yourself out, but you are helping the employer out in the long run. The employer will not benefit from an employee that doesn’t believe in their organization.
