Archery is a great type of sport that can be learned at an early age. A child can get into this sport at the age of 7 years old, provided that the child is closely monitored for safety reasons.

    How to Get Your Child into Archery

  1. Step 1

    First thing you must do it find out if your child is interested in doing this sport. Explain the value of being able to participate in such an exciting sport activity.

  2. Step 2

    Research archery associations that your child can participate in. After you have carefully researched, pick out the best program available.

    There are certain programs, such as JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development), that are available in universities and community programs designed to encourage children's participation in archery. Children are trained to learn the basics and to improve their archery skills. They also prepare the children for competitions.

  3. Step 3

    Sign up for archery lessons and programs.

    Buy or rent the right archery equipment.

    Once your child has signed up you may want to learn how to purchase the right kind of bow and arrow that your child should use. Whether your child is left or right handed.

    Encourage your child to practice regularly to hone his or her skills.
