Instructions

    • 1

Use a corkboard that is proportionate in size with the wall that you are decorating.

    • 2

Hang the corkboard securely on the wall using a hammer and nails, or picture hooks. Use the level to make sure it is not slanted.

    • 3

Gather old and new photographs. Make copies of the photographs instead of using the originals. Print out digital photos stored in compact discs or on memory sticks.

    • 4

Cut out the subjects from the photos to form the collage. Outline the position for each of your photos on the corkboard, placing each image so that you can show a sequence of events or tell a story. You can mix photographs from your travels or family gatherings, so that your collage has a cohesive theme.

    • 5

After you have outlined the positions of the photographs, start putting a couple of adhesive tapes on the back of each photo, and then one by one stick them on the corkboard following the outline.

    • 6

Place labels or captions made of words cut out from magazines and old books, or use computer-generated printouts.

    • 7

Cover with clear plastic to keep the collage protected, or keep it exposed and wipe it regularly with a feather duster.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can replace the photos any time. One good idea is to change the photos with the seasons.

  • Do not hang in humid areas so that the adhesive does not wear out.
