Step1
Circle Centre is downtown Indianapolis' shopping central. In the heart of downtown's Wholesale District, Circle Centre mall is a shopper's delight. Stores include Nordstrom, Coach, Lucky Brand Jeans, PacSun, Victoria's Secret, Gap, Express, Banana Republic, Bath & Body Works and The Disney Store, to name a few.

Indy’s Mass Ave cultural district is home to eclectic boutiques. For artsy boutique shopping downtown, stroll down the five-block Mass Ave Arts District, located at 339 Massachusetts Ave. Or drive 15 minutes from downtown north to Broad Ripple Village for funky fashions, resale boutiques and the newly renovated and expanded Glendale Mall, with a 29,000 square-foot public library on the top floor. Now the guys finally have something to do while their girlfriends and wives shop.

The Fashion Mall at Keystone, on the city's north side at 86th Street and Keystone Avenue, features anchor store Saks Fifth Avenue, along with new shops Lucky Brand Jeans, Tommy Bahama's and Tiffany & Co. Big-name tenants such as Ann Taylor, Anthropologie, Apple, Crate & Barrel, MAC Cosmetics, Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids, Restoration Hardware, Sharper Image, Tumi and Williams Sonoma Home also call The Fashion Mall home.

Along with Circle Centre and The Fashion Mall, Simon Malls offers shopping malls on literally every side of town. Trek to the northeast of Indy for Castleton Square, the largest mall in the state, featuring more than 130 specialty stores. Take a trip south for the Greenwood Park Mall, with anchor stores Dick's Sporting Goods, JCPenney, Macy's and Von Maur. Washington Square is located on the city's east side with more than 80 speciality shops and department stores Burlington Coat Factory, Dick's Sporting Goods, Sears, Macy's and Target. Or head west to Lafayette Square, with fine stores such as Ashley Stewart, Bath & Body Works, The Children's Place, Finish Line and Victoria's Secret.

Indy is heralded for its museums and attractions which also feature shopping for distinctive gifts. Downtown alone is home to the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, Indiana Historical Society, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indiana State Museum, Indianapolis Zoo & White River Gardens and NCAA Hall of Champions. Learn and shop, all in the same trip.

Near the Indianapolis International Airportin in Plainfield, Metropolis is a new outdoor shopping complex that features anchor stores Dick's Sporting Goods and JCPenney, plus more than 60 shops. Aeropostale, American Eagle, Ann Taylor Loft, Buckle, Old Navy, Louis Vuitton, Nike and Yankee Candle are all housed at Metropolis.

  • Take advantage of Circle Centre's underground parking for easy downtown access.
  • From Ruth's Chris Steak House to Orange Julius, check out the wide selection of restaurants at all the city's malls and shopping districts.
  • Give the city's museums and attractions a try for shopping with a twist.
  • Expect crowds during the holiday shopping season.
