When you're having people over, but don't want to spring for top shelf alcohol for a bunch of drunks who won't know the difference after about two hours, follow these steps to make sure the party keeps going without putting too much of a drain on your finances.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ice, and lots of it
  • Cranberry juice
  • Orange juice
  • Lemon/Lime soda
  • Cola
  • Ginger ale
  1. Step 1

Get plenty of light beer. It's cheap by the case, and cheaper by the keg

  2. Step 2

Buy vodka. Combined with the cranberry juice, orange juice, or both, it will make a delicious Cape Codder, Screwdriver, or Madras.

  3. Step 3

Add spiced rum. Mix with cola for a Cuba Libre, ginger ale for a Highball, or with lemon/lime soda.

  4. Step 4

Finish with Jack Daniels. Now you've added Jack & coke and Jack & ginger to the menu. Your guests will have about a dozen different choices when they pick their poison, and you'll only have to shell out for three kinds of booze.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you've got enough ice for drinks and to keep the beer cold.
  • You can't have too many cups.
  • Designate a driver.
