The hardest and saddest part in a relationship is when it ends. It is even more difficult when you don't know the reasons. Here are some steps that can help someone get the closure they wanted from an ex.

1. Sometimes it is bothersome to not understand what went wrong when a partner leaves without goodbye. If this is heavy on your mind, get it off your chest and contact the ex. Let them know up front it is not an attempt to rekindle anything, just that you want an honest explanation for the breakup and you want to put finality between the two of you.

2. Write a letter. It can relieve the stress you're having due to a failed relationship. Write anything you want geared toward your ex. It is fine to put all your emotions in that letter and release the pent-up negativity you'd been carrying inside and more importantly letting the ex go. Afterwards burn it or shred it to pieces.

3. Accepting the ending of a relationship whether it is good or bad is helpful as well. While it may be hard to face facts to never knowing the reason why things ended, make peace within yourself and try to understand the end of it is all you really need to start the process of letting go.
