How to Have a Better Singing Voice

  1. Step 1

One thing to do to help yourself have a better singing voice is to make sure your throat is never dry by drinking plenty of water. Be careful not to drink anything with dairy before a performance as dairy/milk products create mucus build-up, which will make it harder to hit certain notes. Hot drinks, such as tea, are OK but make sure they're not too hot or they can burn and irritate your throat.

  2. Step 2

Singing in the shower is also good for your vocal chords. Because it is misty and wet the shower helps to keep your vocal chords moist.

  3. Step 3

Practice gradual vocal exercises. On a piano strike a chord and try to sing until you hit that exact note. Gradually keep working your way up the scale in the higher pitch direction and the lower pitch direction. This will help to gradually stretch your vocal chords and this will help you to be able to hit more notes.

  4. Step 4

Try to sing while physically running around in circles. If you are able to keep your pitch while running this proves that you can balance physical exercising, breathing, and singing.

  5. Step 5

Hire a vocal coach. This will enforce that you are practicing and you will have a professional observing you.

Tips & Warnings
  • Before you start practice singing you must make sure to practice breathing. Make sure as your stomach moves in that the air is actually being pushed out and vice versa. Make sure to also practice deep breathing and short breathes.
