Apple cider is cozy and inviting, especially when there's rum involved!

As the cold winter months approach, hot apple cider sounds better and better. Why not spice up your holiday parties with this festive variation? Add some tart raspberry flavor and a little rum and you've got yourself a divine holiday cocktail.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 quarts of apple cider
  • 1 (12 oz.) can of frozen raspberry cocktail concentrate
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • 3 cups of frozen raspberries
  • 1 1/2 cups of dark rum
  1. Step 1

Allow the frozen cocktail concentrate to thaw.

  2. Step 2

Combine the cider and frozen cocktail concentrate in a pot. Break a cinnamon stick in half and throw that in, too. Bring to a boil, stirring often. Feel free to scoop away and foam that gathers atop the pot.

  3. Step 3

Once it has boiled, turn the heat to low and allow it to simmer. Throw in the frozen raspberries. Leave on low heat for about 10-15 minutes for full raspberry flavor saturation.

  4. Step 4

While you are waiting, divide the rum into 12 mugs. Add a cinnamon stick to each.

  5. Step 5

Pour the cider while it is still hot. Sip slowly, unwind and enjoy. Yes, that's part of the directions.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you'd like, you can add an orange slice for garnish.
  • For a creamier drink, drop a pat of butter into each mug before pouring.
  • Don't overdo the cinnamon during cooking. A stick in each mug will add a rich, full flavor.
