Are you in a job that may pay well but you still aren't happy? Do you feel miserable waking up for work every morning? Perhaps you need a career change. These steps may help you find a more fulfilling job or at least help you find fulfillment at work.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Money. Maybe your job isn't bad but you still feel you are not making as much money as you could. Perhaps you can organize a list of reasons on why you feel you deserve a raise and professionally present them to your boss or supervisor. If it doesn't work out, perhaps research the same job at other companies to see if there's better pay or research a totally different job that you feel you're qualified for that also pays more.

  2. Step 2

Ethics. Perhaps you work for a company whose objective may rub you the wrong way. Or perhaps you just want to work for a company that gives back to society.

  3. Step 3

Security. Perhaps you're staying at a job that pays well but you find it dull and uninteresting. You may want to think outside of the money box and consider a more active job, even if you have to take a price cut.

  4. Step 4

Enviornment. Perhaps you have a job that you like and pays well but unfortunately you don't get along with your boss and or co-workers. Don't be afraid to research other companies with similar job openings. Try to talk to employees at the other companies to see if they like their jobs. Perhaps you are just not comfortable in the work environment and you should consider working from home.

Tips & Warnings
  • If there is harassment in the workplace, make sure to let your boss know. If nothing is done, file a police report and alert the Better Business Bureau.
