This lesson teaches elementary-level students basic typing skills as well as creative writing.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    How to Play Computer Musical Chairs

  1. Step 1

    Have each student sit at a computer.

  2. Step 2

    Play some music.

  3. Step 3

    As the music plays, have each student begin typing a story.

  4. Step 4

    Stop the music, and have each student move to the computer to their right.

  5. Step 5

    Start the music again, and have each student read the story on the screen, then begin adding to it themselves.

  6. Step 6

    Repeat these steps until every student has made it around the room and back to her original computer.

  7. Step 7

    Print these piecemeal stories, and read them aloud in class.
