How to Play the Vocabulary Game

  1. Step 1

Divide the class into two teams: Team A and Team B.

  2. Step 2

Have each team pick a representative.

  3. Step 3

Position the two teams in front of the classroom board with their representatives in chairs facing them.

  4. Step 4

Write a vocabulary word on the board.

  5. Step 5

The teams take turns giving one-word clues describing the vocabulary word to their representatives. They cannot actually say the vocabulary words themselves.

  6. Step 6

After five clues, the representative who correctly identifies the word wins a point for her team. If no one identifies the word, no one wins a point.

  7. Step 7

Rotate representatives after every word until all the vocabulary words for the week have been correctly identified.
