Step 1
Check your local discount and drug stores for sales and clearance items. Many drugstores, such as Walgreen's, offer buy-one-get-one sales, especially around the holidays. Stores also mark down items if new colors or lines are about to be introduced.
-
Step 2
Check you local dollar stores. A lot of makeup at the dollar stores is off-brand, but you can find national brands, too. There are discontinued colors and items where the packaging has been updated, but the product is still in good shape.
-
Step 3
Check the Internet. A whole host of sites has sprung up offering discounted make-up. E.L.F. has a website where all makeup is one dollar. It is also possible to find small brand mineral makeups, such as Everyday Minerals, for much less than nationally advertised brands.
-
Step 4
Visit department store makeup departments for free gifts with purchase. Many of these gifts have a value much higher than the minimum purchase required. This is a great way to try new products.
