Dead skin cells can dull your complexion, but you don't need to spend big money on harsh chemical exfoliants. Baking soda will work just as well.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    Making a Baking Soda Exfoliant

  1. Step 1

Remove your make-up and clean your face thoroughly, but do not use your regular toner or astringent.

  2. Step 2

If your skin is oily, mix 1 tsp of baking soda with 1/2 tsp of water to make a thick paste. Of your skin is normal to dry, mix 1 tsp of baking soda with the oil from 2 vitamin E capsules.

  3. Step 3

Rub the paste into your skin in small circular motions. Do not scrub hard because this can damage your skin and allow bacteria to enter microscopic tears. Gentle, even pressure works best when using a mechanical exfoliant.

  4. Step 4

Rinse your skin thoroughly with lukewarm water and apply a thick coat of moisturizer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not follow your exfoliation with any alcohol-based products like toner. Your skin will be sensitive for around ten minutes, so if you must use a toner, skip the moisturizer and wait 15 minutes to apply the toner. Finish with your moisturizer.
