The sports books, however, know gamblers - and gamblers are usually wrong.

1. Check the line when it opens on Monday.

2. Check the line daily for movement.

3. If the line goes up, that means the sports books are trying to make the underdog more attractive because the gamblers are taking the favorite. Since the smart play is to bet against the gamblers, you take the underdog.

4. If the line goes down, that means the sports books are trying to make the favorite more attractive because the gamblers are taking the underdog. Since the smart play is to bet against the gamblers, you take the favorite.
