Psychic readings can be performed on animals that are still with us or have crossed over. Information gained from a reading can be incredibly beneficial to a pet owner. If the animal doesn't seem happy in the home, a reading may uncover the reasons why. If someone has just lost their dear pet, a reading can help them find closure.

With some practice and an open heart and mind, anyone can try to connect with an animal using the following steps.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A quiet spot to meditate where you will not be disturbed.
  • A picture of the animal.
  • A piece of paper and a pen.
  1. Step 1

Find a quiet spot where you will not be disturbed. Sit comfortably and have the animal's photo and a pen and paper nearby.

  2. Step 2

Perform a basic meditation to help you relax and enter a receptive psychic state. You might find it helpful to imagine a golden globe above your head that melts over your body creating a sense of warmth and peace. You will use this golden energy to help you connect with the animal.

  3. Step 3

When you feel you are ready, pick up the photo of the animal and try to connect with the animal's energy. If a connection is made, you will eventually "see" the animal either in the room with you or in some place of importance in its life.

  4. Step 4

When you have found the animal's spirit, politely ask him if he would be willing to talk with you. Very few animals will turn down the opportunity but it's important to be respectful of the animal's space. If the animal responds favourably, continue with the reading. If he declines, thank him and end the reading.

  5. Step 5

Now that you have each other's attention, project the golden energy that's around your body to the animal so that it encircles you both. Within this connected space, you may talk with each other and ask the animal any questions you might have.

  6. Step 6

Pick up your pen and paper so you can jot down any information you receive from the animal. There are many different ways to receive messages and there isn't a right way or a wrong way to communicate. Some people feel the animal's emotions, others receive snapshots of the animal's life. The types of messages you receive may also change from animal to animal. Some may communicate a few words at a time while others will talk in complete sentences, telling you a story. However the information comes to you is exactly how you are supposed to receive it.

  7. Step 7

Let the animal control the pace of the conversation. She may want to be the one in control, giving you information that's important to her or you might have to ask questions to get her to open up. Write down whatever information is sent to you, even if it seems unimportant - small, seemingly insignificant scraps of information can sometimes turn out to be the most powerful. Record not only what the animal is saying or showing you, but also note her attitude and any physical characteristics.

  8. Step 8

Either of you can choose when it is time to end the reading. If the animal is no longer responsive or seems anxious to get going, or when you eventually run out of questions, it's time to call it quits. Thank the animal for spending time with you and let them know that your time together is over. Withdraw the golden energy and sit quietly until the animal's presence fades.

  9. Step 9

If this was a personal reading, you are now finished. If the reading was for a friend or a client, you should contact them as soon as possible after the reading while the information is fresh in your mind. If there will be a delay in connecting with the person who requested the reading, take some time to write or type out your impressions from the session. This way, time will not have had an opportunity to fade the memories of the reading and you will be able to give the reading requester as much information as you can.

Tips & Warnings
  • Unless you are very experienced, don't try to do more than a reading or two a day. Readings can sometimes be very taxing and you will be able to connect better with the animals if you're at the top of your game.
  • Don't perform the reading unless you're prepared to assist the animal if asked. For example, if you perform a reading and the animal asks for help on a particular situation - maybe it isn't happy in its home or perhaps it is in pain - you must be prepared to do what you can to help that animal. This doesn't mean that you have to take on the the care of that animal yourself, but you should be prepared to give the information you receive to the person responsible for that animal's care.

on 11/20/2007 I was always under the impression that only certain people had psychic powers and the ability to communicate with animals, or at least claimed to have that ability. This is a very interesting approach and a well-written article.
