If you have the desire to breastfeed but think you can't because of inverted nipples, you may have been misinformed. Many women with inverted nipples report that their nipples improved during pregnancy. However, if you are having trouble breastfeeding your newborn there are a few things you can do.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Wear breast shells. Breast shells are hard, lighweight plastic domes worn inside of your bra. They are designed to encourage the nipples to come out by putting slight pressure on the areola. Many women wear them in the last trimester of pregnancy in preparation of breastfeeding their newborn.
Step2
Use a breast pump immediately before breastfeeding.
Step3
Expose your nipples to cold temperature immediately before breastfeeding.
