From time to time we all have a craving for some homemade chili. Whether it is frigid or stifling outside, this quick and easy chili recipe is sure to please even the toughest crowd. Perfect as a quick meal or to serve to dinner guests on game day this easy recipe takes less than an hour to prepare and mere minutes for the compliments to roll in.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb to 1.5 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 medium bellpepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes
  • 15 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 2 15.5 oz cans of kidney beans
  • steak seasoning or salt and pepper (depending on taste)
  • 3 to 6 tbsp of chili powder (depending on taste)
  • 1 cup of water
  • shredded cheese (optional)
  • saltine crackers (optional)

    Easy Chili Preparation

  1. Step 1

    Prep first by chopping the onion and bell pepper.

  2. Step 2

    Brown the ground beef in a standard boiler or large pot on high heat. Throw the bell pepper and onion in to saute while the meat is browning.

  3. Step 3

    Season the meat while it is browning with either steak seasoning of your choice or salt and pepper.

  4. Step 4

    Once the ground beef for your easy chili is thoroughly cooked, drain excess grease.

  5. Step 5

    Replacing the pot on high heat, add the rest of your ingredients and let boil for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring often.

  6. Step 6

    Cut the heat down to medium on your cooktop. Stir every 5 to 10 minutes and allow to cook for at least 20 minutes.

  7. Step 7

    Top each serving with shredded cheese and serve with saltine crackers.
