Step 1
Buy a newspaper a day or two before Black Friday. The newspaper will have advertisements of all the local sales taking place on Black Friday. This will help you save money as well as know what it is you’re shopping for on Black Friday.
-
Step 2
Plan which stores you’re going to shop at on Black Friday. Knowing this will give you an idea of exactly how much money you are intending to spend on Black Friday. It will also help save on gas money since you won’t be driving around aimlessly.
-
Step 3
Get to the stores early on Black Friday. Stores have their best sales in the early morning on Black Friday so it’s vital to be out shopping before sunrise.
-
Step 4
Make a list and stick to it as much as possible. Make your Christmas shopping on Black Friday a similar experience to your grocery shopping. It’s ok to deviate from the list a little but don’t stray far from it.
-
Step 5
Avoid stores that you haven’t planned to shop at on Black Friday. If you looked at advertisements before Black Friday and decided that you didn’t want to enter a certain store, there was probably a good reason for doing so. Be aware that many stores in malls will try to get you to enter by advertising a large sale when, in reality, the price is the exact same that it was a week ago.
-
Step 6
Leave the credit and debit cards at home. If you only bring cash with you on Black Friday you won’t be able to spend anymore money than you originally planned.
