Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Toilet lock
  • Faucet cover
  • Bath thermometer
  • Baby bath seat
  • Cabinet lock
  • Screwdriver
  • Outlet covers
  1. Step 1

Install baby proof cabinet locks on your vanity using a screwdriver.

  2. Step 2

Turn your thermostat down to 120 degrees or below to prevent scalding in the tub.

  3. Step 3

Put a baby proof lock on your toilet lid. Babies can fall head first into a toilet and drown.

  4. Step 4

Put outlet covers on all outlets below the waist.

  5. Step 5

Put a faucet cover on your bathtub faucet. Faucet covers are soft sleeves that keep babies heads from being hurt by bumps against a hard and sharp faucet.

  6. Step 6

Always test the temperature of your baby's bath water. Water that is not hot to your hand can still be too hot for baby. Test the water with an elbow or better yet use a bathtub thermostat especially made for this purpose.

  7. Step 7

Put hair dryers away after use. Dryers could be pulled off the counter and land on your baby's head or be dropped into an open toilet or bath full of water.

  8. Step 8

Use a baby bath seat when bathing your little one in the tub. Bath seats prevent a baby from slipping down under the water and make it easier for you to wash him.

Tips & Warnings
  • Safety devices are no substitute for proper supervision. Never leave your baby unattended in a bathroom.

on 11/7/2008 Baby bath seats are dangerous and a leading factor in infant tub injuries and drownings. "have been blamed for about 120 drownings and at least 160 injuries since 1983." http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/babies-kids/baby-toddler/care-and-dressing/bathtubs/bathtubs-1105/baby-bath-seat-warning/
