How to Wrap Presents

Wrapping gifts is not easy unless you have practiced many times, or been trained well. We all hope that it doesn't matter what the outside looks like, but sadly it sometimes does.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• wrapping paper
• tape
• scissors

1. First, place the box on the wrapping paper to measure size. If the item is small, you may be able to use a left over piece.

2. Trim the paper so it doesn't bunch up. Trimming the sides will keep the paper from bunching up, making it easier to wrap nicely.

3. Fold paper over present and secure with tape. The tape should be placed in the center and possibly near each edge.

4. Turn the present so a side is facing you. Fold the outside edges into a triangle and fold in. Then place a piece of tape if desired.

5. Crease the bottom to create a triangle. Fold up and secure with tape.

6. Crease the top into a triangle. Fold down and secure with tape.

7. Repeat the process for the other side.

8. Add a bow to the top of the package. Add a card if desired or write the name on the wrapping.

9. If you're in a hurry, grab a gift bag and tissue paper. Throw the present in the bag and place tissue paper on top with ribbon to secure the handles close.

Tips & Warnings

• Practice wrapping small presents first before getting to larger ones.
• If the present is oddly shaped, place into a more square or rectangular box before wrapping.
• Try using other materials to wrap presents: newspapers, butcher paper and then adding flashy adornments for ribbons.
