Lobsters and Clam Bakes in the summer time are great fun. Especially if you are able to visit Maine or Cape Cod. Adults love to eat lobster but usually the kids would rather something simpler. Make these cute and easy lobster shaped sugar cookies to serve the children something special at your next lobster or clam bake.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Good basic sugar cookie recipe
  • Cookie cutter in the shape of a lobster
  • Red licorice to insert in eyes
  • Optional: red royal icing

Step1
Prepare sugar cookie dough as needed. Chill dough. Roll out dough onto clean, floured flat surface.
Step2
Use lobster shaped cookie cutter to create shapes in dough. Place on clean, ungreased cookie sheet.
Step3
Place two small pieces of red licorice for eyes. Bake as indicated on sugar cookie recipe.
Step4
Can be frosted with pre-made red royal icing if desired. Serve on large red tray. Enjoy.
