Things You'll Need:
- Garam masala:-
- cumin seeds 2 tbsp
- corriander 2 Tbsp
- Black pepper 1 Tbsp
- 2-3 cinamon stick
- 4-5 cloves
- 2 Cradamom black
- Paste :-
- 1 cup yougurt
- 2 tsp ginger/ garlic paste ( ground equal amount)
- 2 cups sliced onions (before frying)
- 1 whole chicken cut into smaller pieces ie leg into 2
- oil for frying onions (discard or save for later cooking)
- 1/2 cup ghee or oil

Step 1
Preparing Spices:-
Place all the spice ie corriander , cumin ,black pepper , cinamon sticks , cloves , cardamom ,black cardamom and nutmeg in microwave .
Let is cook on high heat until strong aroma starts to come , stop imediately . Take out and let it cool down . Grind all the spices into a fine powder and set aside. -
Step 2
Slice the onions and fry them in one cup oil , when golden brown take them off on a paper towel. chop finally in a chopper and set aside

Step 3
In a bowl mix togather sauce ingredients ie , yogurt , garam masala 1 Tbsp powder , salt , ginger and garlic paste and prepared chopped onions .

Step 4
Wash the Chicken pieces in cold running water . In a big pan add oil and when it is quite hot add to this the chicken pieces , along with a cinamon stick , few black peppers and cloves . Fry till aroma starts to come and chicken turns slightly golden.

Step 5
pour step 3 ingredients on top of chicken at this point reduce the heat to medium . let it cook until oil separates from chicken.

Add red chilli powder on bubbling oil (that has separated from the chicken )and let it cook (dont mix for 1 minute).

Add a generous pinch of powder green crdamom . and mix well continue mixing and cooking till oil separates completely.
Add 1 1/2 cup of water reduce heat to simmer .
Cook until chicken is done . -
Step 8
soak almonds in warm water for 30 minutes and take off the cover when soft . Slice these almonds and add to the simmering chicken.

sprinkle with chopped corriander and cover till you serve.
