Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Information
- Money
- A friend (opptional)
Step1
Determine what style of music you want to play, and what kind of usage the guitar will get. (i.e. Just for fun at home then you don't need a pick-up, if you going to eventually play through a sound system then you will need a pick-up).
Step2
Buy a quality guitar something that will last you the rest of your life, and you will be proud to play for others. Quality doesn't always mean the most expensive. There are quality guitars for reasonable prices.
Step3
What to look for: Solid wood top, height of the strings from the neck (also know as "action"), reputation of the company who makes the guitar, the sound of the guitar (make sure you play the guitar. If your going to spend them money you should know what your getting, or if your buying a guitar for someone else make sure you know that they played the guitar or something similar). size, cut out (depending upon the style of music), and the last thing to look at is the price (remember this is an investment, don't be afraid to spend a little bit of money).
