If you’ve been diagnosed with Diabetes, there’s a lot you’ll need to learn in order to manage your health. Diabetes educators are an excellent resource in teaching you how to control your blood sugar with insulin, diet control, oral medication, exercise and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Step1
If you have insurance, contact your insurer and ask them to provide a list of covered educators.
Step2
Contact your doctor and ask him or her to recommend an educator or diabetes center in your area.
Step3
Go to www.diabeteseducator.org for resources in your area.
Step4
Contact your local hospital to see if they have a diabetes center.
