Once you get into the cycle of exercising it is easy to see positive changes in your health and the over all look of your body. Unfortunately life can become distracting and it can also be just as easy to fall out of the exercising cycle. Once you fall out of the cycle it is not always easy to get back into it. Hopefully these steps can help you get back on track.

How to Get Back into Shape

Step1
If it has been a while since you last exercised you will definitely want to start off taking it easy so as not to strain yourself. Do not start off running a mile right away. Start off WALKING a mile a few times until you feel really comfortable with it. When you feel you are ready to bump yourself up to running you may do so.
Step2
A key part in getting back into shape is to cut back on the unhealthy food you eat or drink (i.e. substitute soda with water or 100% real fruit juice and you will actually start to feel more energetic and less bloated).
Step3
Try to go to sleep at a decent hour. If you go to sleep earlier this will help you to be able to wake up earlier. Getting at least eight hours of sleep each night will leave you with more energy to start the day off right. However sleeping too much can actually make you more tired during day. That's why it is important to keep yourself active during the day so you can sleep better at night.
Step4
Once you find yourself being able to run more easily you may want to consider doing a work out that works the muscles in the entire body. There are plenty of good exercises that will help you to do this. Some examples of these exercises are: yoga, swimming, aerobics classes, personal training/gym, etc.

Tips & Warnings

  • Drinking plenty of water is important. When you exercise your body loses plenty of water when you sweat so it's important to dehydrate yourself. Water will also help cleanse your body and it's good for your skin.
  • It is also important to make sure you stretch each time before your exercise.
