Online shopping. A great convenience, or a huge temptation? Either way, Ebates.com can help eliminate some of the shopper's guilt associated with online splurges.
Sign up for an Ebates account by going to www.ebates.com.
Step2
Go to the "search" bar in the upper left corner. Type in the store or product you're looking for.
Step3
Choose a store which carries the product you're looking for, based on who gives the highest percent of cash back. You can also compare prices here, so judge the best rebate with the best price and consider which method you would save more money with.
Step4
Check the link next to the store you choose for extra coupons.
Step5
Click on your selected stores link to access the store's main page. Clicking through this link will deposit cash into your Ebates.com account when you finalize your purchase!
Tips & Warnings
Check out the timeline for payment under the FAQ. Ebates cashes out your account just a few times a year!
Ebates gives a Paypal option if you don't want to wait for a check to be mailed.
Some stores aren't on the list yet, but you can always email Ebates with suggested stores.

Haha sadly maybe its that confusing b/c its that simple! Once you click on a link, ebates redirects you to the main page of the site you want. When you make a purchase, they get a referral fee, and you get a percent back which is "banked" until their next pay out. You'll get an email once your rebate is banked. Really, there's nothing else to it.

Maybe I'm just a little bit on the dense side, but I looked at the ebates site, & I don't understand it! When I click on a store link, it takes me to that store's main website. Nothing says "this is from ebate"; ebates doesn't give me a number or checkout "coupon" or any other kind of "proof"; they don't even say if it's valid online or off or both. If I click "offers", it shows a page indicating that I've been "registered" for it & that I needn't do anything else. I'm TOTALLY confused! (FWIW, I'm a computer programmer with over 30 years of experience, have been on the 'net since the 1990's, and have bought many things from e-tailers, so I know my way around! ebates, though, has me totally perplexed! Can someone explain it to me?
