Jolly Ranchers are a tasty candy, and they make an even tastier shot. For a tart and tangy treat, this goes down smooth and doesn't make you flinch!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • One ounce apple vodka per serving
  • One-half ounce of citrus vodka per serving
  • One-half ounce of apple schnapps per serving
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Ice
  • Glass of your choice
  1. Step 1

    Fill a shaker with ice.

  2. Step 2

Pour the one-half ounce of apple schnapps into the shaker.

  3. Step 3

Add both the half ounce of citrus vodka and one ounce of apple vodka.

  4. Step 4

    Shake to chill.

  5. Step 5

    Pour into glass and serve!

Tips & Warnings
  • You can serve this as a cocktail by adding you favorite fruit juice.
  • Substituting different flavored liquors will give you a different, but equally tasty drink. For example, using raspberry vodka and scnapps gives you a raspberry jolly rancher drink.
  • Some bars add a Jolly Rancher candy to the bottom. This is not advisable, as it is a choking hazard! For extra flair, serve it on the side, as you would the lemon and salt with tequila.

on 2/11/2009 I have served these for years and never had a complaint. All shots and drinks can be made multiple ways. Yes, my way is a bit stronger, but its still very sweet - and isnt ALL schnapps, which is basically just like drinking high-sugar juice.

on 2/11/2009 This recipe is wrong and is more like a stiff (albeit slightly flavored), Vodka Martini. The Jolly Rancher is supposed to be a sweet drink (or shot) that tastes like the candy.

A traditional Jolly Rancher is made with 3/4 oz Apple Schnapps - 3/4 oz Peach Schnapps - and a splash of Cranberry Juice. Variations can be made on the Apple component to change the flavor of the Jolly Rancher flavor you intend to replicate (ie, change the Apple Schnapps to Watermelon or Cherry DeKuyper Schnapps to change it to a Watermelon or Cherry Jolly Rancher).
