How to rank NFL players in Fantasy Football

Rate: (3 Ratings)

One of the more difficult tasks in the days leading up to a fantasy football draft is ranking the players in order to draft the best possible team. Much depends on a league's scoring format. Some formats favor one position over another which may make a given player more valuable in one scoring format and less so in another.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Access to NFL players career stats

Step1
Determine which position (QB, RB, WR, etc.) is favored in your league's scoring system.
Step2
Find a website, or purchase a hobby magazine, that lists each NFL player's stats for the previous season and for his entire career.
Step3
Using your league's scoring format, compute the player's total points and then list in order of points and by position.

Tips & Warnings

  • There are several websites and magazines that will do this for you and will even allow you to sort players by scoring system as well.
  • Also remember, that most leagues have set numbers of players at each position. So while you may have a higher-ranked player available during a draft, you may have to bypass him to obtain a lower-ranked player at a specific position.
