These days everyone is on-the-go, whether it be work, taking care of kids, or socializing. It can be hard to eat healthy when fast food restaurants are right around every corner. Here are a few ways to eat healthier while still living a busy lifestyle.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Buy an insulated lunch bag to carry your food. This is especially helpful for fruits, vegetables, yogurts, cheeses, and left-overs.

  2. Step 2

Pre-package and portion your foods so you can grab them on your way out. You can do this by cutting fruits and vegetables the night before and placing them in your plastic bags or containers. If you have left-overs from dinner, put them in a plastic container to take for lunch the next day.

  3. Step 3

Make your own trail mix adding your favorite dried fruits and nuts. Portion out into baggies or containers.

  4. Step 4

Carry your water bottle full of water to avoid drinking sugary drinks full of empty calories

  5. Step 5

Individually wrapped breakfast bars, granola bars, fruit cups, or puddings also make great snacks to grab on the go.

Tips & Warnings
  • When choosing dairy, choose low fat or fat free products
  • If you have time to pack everything the night before, grabbing breakfast and lunch will be even quicker than going through a drive thru
  • You may need to add an ice pack to insulated lunch bag to keep the food cooler for a longer period of time
