How to Give Great Holiday Gifts to In-Laws

During the holidays, it can be daunting to think of something to give each family on your partner's side. If you feel close to the families and want to give them something special but don't have the time or budget to get them each something different, there are a few ways to work your gift giving magic.

1. Create a photo desk calendar using pictures of the family members. If you have twelve great photographs that you can use, it should be easy to load them onto a printing website. If you don't have pictures, ask family members to contribute. For an extra special bonus, add the birthdays and anniversaries of family members who you'll be giving the calendar to.

2. Make "date night" boxes for adult family members. The boxes or baskets can include gift certificates for the movie theatre or rental shop, popcorn, 3-D glasses, and boxes of candy. This is a gift that isn't too expensive, but will probably be useful for practically any family.

3. Create baking mixes for special recipes and package them together with a pretty recipe card. Include only the dry ingredients, such as flour, sugar, spices, and nuts for things like cookies, pancakes, and cakes. Put everything in a glass jar with a ribbon.
