How to Become Comfortable With Your Body

People all over the world are constantly searching for miraculous ways to change their bodies-to make them perfect. They don't stop to enjoy what they have now and end up regretting that later.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Never underestimate the power of prayer. You may feel that your friends and family do not understand you. Prayer helps you to verbalize your problem and become aware of what is going on deep within you. Free therapy-and faith heals.
Step2
Never, ever...compare yourself to other people. We all are beautiful in all of our unique ways. Everyone has different genes and bone structures. Embrace what you've got. Realize that you are a work of art. It is your job to dust off yourself and allow your beauty to shine!
Step3
Sometimes it is okay to revert to previous habits and to start obsessing about your "imperfections". Do not feel ashamed of slipping. Just pick yourself up and go on. It gets easier every time.
Step4
Listen to your body. When you fall in sync with your body needs you will notice that you are losing weight naturally because you aren't fasting one day and gorging the next. Our bodies crave stability and balance. Nourish yourself with healthy foods. Introduce them into your diet bite by bite. By letting yourself eat when you truly want to, and eating healthier... you will develop a connection with your body.
Step5
Now you will notice that you are beginning to care more about the health of your body rather than its "perfection". Gradually you will stop doing things that harm you. Your state of mind will change.
Step6
Begin an exercise program that suits your needs. You may actually realize that you want to do that because it makes you feel healthier, stronger and happier.
Step7
Read inspirational books about people that you admire or other ways of life. Seek out words of wisdom, light, clarity and happiness. There is more to life than that scale on your bathroom floor. There is more to life than having that "perfect" body. Anyway ... there is no such thing as total perfection.
Step8
Learn to love your so called "flaws". Try to be comfortable with them and accept them.
Step9
Remind yourself of other people's admiration for you. Revel in their praise. Find things that you do well. Let unfair expectations go... You may never have mile high legs, but perhaps you make everyone smile when you are around. That is one heck of an achievement.
Step10
Learn new skills. Continue to challenge yourself. Begin volunteering. Once you start developing a more balanced approach to life, you'll never go back.
Step11
Keep reminding yourself how great you are. Try on some pretty makeup, delightful perfume and flattering clothes. And yes, make that trip by yourself. You will be amazed how strong you are. You will begin to realize that you are comfortable being yourself, by yourself and within your body.

Tips & Warnings

  • Looking back once you are old, you don't want to have the regret that you did not enjoy what you did have, but spent the time over analyzing the circumference of your thighs. Live in the moment. Revel in who you are.

on 12/29/2007 GOOD ADVICE devchonachka, so many are OBSESSED with their bodys. They are even bitter against God for some of their percieved imperfections. Actually, this attitude makes them less attractive. This bitter attitude will eventually show up on their faces. Just take a look around eHow and check out some of the profiles to see the attitudes, and then you will see what I mean. GOOD ARTICLE.
