Things You'll Need:
- A hella lot of pride and ice cream ( ben & jerry )
-
Step 1
Okay, so first things first. It`s gunna hurt, no amount of ice cream, candy late-night-movies-with-girlfriends will make it stop. The best way to get over someone, is to be friends and try and keep a good relationship between the two of you. Even though it will hurt seeing them with someone knew. at least if your friends, you might have the chance to hear it from them. then from rumors and gossip. Its always better to come from the soruce rather than threw the grape-vine.
-
Step 2
Try and move on. Im not saying go on a date that night. But maybe in a week or two. moving is the worst part of getting over someone. Your afaird of being hurt again, you have no idea who to trust. and no one wants to start over new. but its going to happen sooner or later. its best to be open to the fact then staying home everynite waiting for a phone call you know isnt coming. Double dating with friends will take some pressure off as well. Getting back in the dating scene will come when your ready, dont rush it. but if your willing to go back out there, then by all means you go for it :)
-
Step 3
No matter what is said over the internet, or Via text message or on Tv. no one has the real curse for heart break. its your own personal feelings. I my self have lost boys, but in that process have gained new friendships and better relationships. Im always willing to give good adivce and help people. but people who look for help and only relay on what others have to say. wont go very far. u have to pick your self up and be your own person. its the only way to overcome sadness, and unhappyiness. goodluck <3 everyone

on 7/11/2009 This advice is terrible. How are you supposed to get over a person while maintaining a relationship with them? The only real way to get over them is to cut them off for awhile. You need to spend some time with yourself. Grow as a person. Find a hobby. If you still talk to the person, you will remain dependant on them. It may also lead to the false belief that there's still chemistry between you two, and in voicing this belief, you may end up hurting yourself as well as the other person. Also, you should learn to NOT date. Be independant for awhile, because you are a strong person, and you shouldn't feel the need to date or be in a relationship in order to feel good about yourself. Point 3 was good, though. :)
