If you hurry, you just might be in the right place at the right time to try out for the cast of the hot reality show, "The Bachelor."
The timing couldn't be better, since ABC-TV is just kicking off a series of open casting calls around the country for "Bachelor" contestants.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Patience, since you might be standing in long casting call lines.
  1. Step 1

Start by heading over to the ABC-TV website, where you can find information about the series of casting calls being conducted beginning Nov. 8th and ending on Nov. 15th. This is a small window of opportunity, so make your plans quickly. Casting calls will be held in Austin, Tex.; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago; Boston; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; and Orlando. Some of these cities, including Austin and Chicago, will hold casting calls on several different dates and in different locations.

  2. Step 2

Expect to be interviewed, videotaped and photographed at the open casting calls. You will also receive the official application to fill out. Once you've been interviewed, the producers will take your information back with them and will let you know if you're a semi-finalist at some undetermined time in the future. Generally, the producers are looking for one potential bachelor and 25 potential bachelorettes for the show.

  3. Step 3

If you can't make it to the casting call, you still have the opportunity to apply by going to the website and filling out the online application, which includes an opportunity to upload digital photos of yourself. If you can't apply online, you can print the application and mail it along with photos.

  4. Step 4

Whether you fill out an online application or not, you must make a 3-minute videotape (no DVDs) telling the producers why you want to be the Bachelor or a Bachelorette. They would also like you to include basic information about yourself (name, age, occupation, relationship history, where you are from and why you want to be on the show). Include a full-length body shot on the video.

  5. Step 5

Mail your applicaton, photos, and videotape to:
    "The Bachelor" Casting
    Kassting Inc.
    6380 Wilshire Blvd., Ste 1015
    Los Angeles, CA 90048

  6. Step 6

If you're lucky enough to make the semi-finalist round, you will receive a semi-finalist packet in the mail. Among other things, you will be required to fill out a bunch of forms, including a medical history form, releases, waivers and a confidentiality agreement, and return everything along with a copy of your valid passport.

  7. Step 7

If your materials are in order and the producers like what they see, you will receive a phone call asking you to come to Los Angeles. There, you will be interviewed again by the producers and will have to undergo physical and mental examinations.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to fill out the correct application. "The Bachelor" applications include those meant for people nominating possible bachelors, and individual bachelors and bachelorettes.
  • Don't expect to hear from the producers if you don't make the cut. They will only contact semi-finalists.
