How to Make Homemade Ginger Tea
Ginger has been used medicinally for more than 2000 years to treat nausea and diarrhea and to aid digestion. Ginger also improves circulation, making it effective for fighting the chills associated with the common cold and flu as well as premenstrual symptoms. Drinking ginger tea is one of the milder ways to take ginger, and it's a soothing and tasty treat when you're feeling under the weather. Cut thin slices off of a fresh ginger root. You will need about one teaspoon of ginger per cup of tea.

Place the sliced ginger into a pot or kettle.

Add water and place the kettle on the stove on medium-high heat.

Bring the water to a boil and then remove it immediately.

Pour the tea into cups right away, using a strainer to catch the ginger slices.

Add honey and lemon, if desired, and stir.

Tips & Warnings
Ginger tea keeps well. If you have some left over, store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container and enjoy it cold or warm it up.
Ginger can be used to alleviate morning sickness in pregnant women, but it should be used sparingly. It's wise to speak with your prenatal care provider before using any herbal remedies.
Children under two years of age should not use ginger medicinally.
