Before you go to bed wash your feet, if you are feeling energetic you can get a loofa or scrubby sponge and slough off the dead skin.
Step2
Squeeze a big handful of lotion and apply it to both feet, make sure to just completely drench your feet. rub in what you can, but make sure there is still alot that can sit there and soak in over night. you can also use cocoa butter as well. Put your socks on over your feet, then go to bed as usual.
Step3
when you wake up the lotion should be fully soaked into your feet and then go about your day as usual, repeat for as many nights as you like and i promise your feet will feel silky smooth in no time! :)
Tips & Warnings
i personally prefer to use cocoa butter, i think it moisturizes the best and makes the biggest difference the quickest.
use a lotion in your favorite scent for great smellin' toes all day!
you can do the same things to your hands and just wear gloves! ( i work in healthcare and have horrible dry hands!) it works really well :)
be careful and make sure you put the socks on top of all the lotion, maybe even slippers, that way you dont get up in the night and slip and fall.

Take a shallow cake pan, add some olive oil in it or any regular salad oil then dip your feet in it for a little while. Use cheap flannel or terry cloth slipper, slip your feet in them and leave them on for as long as you can maybe sleep with them on. I use olive oil on my hair and face, it get soaked in so quickly and does not smell(extralight version if u do not like the smell of olive oil). This is one option for silky feet..hope it works for you.

ChattyLinda07...I don't know of a long shoehorn for putting on lotion...but an idea just came to mind, maybe use a rubber spatula from the kitchen. You can scoop some lotion on it and reach down and spread it on your feet.

Hi! I work at the hospital on the rehabilitation floor and i have a lot of patients who have this problem,i woudl suggest purchasing some self help aids such as this one below, heres the link a website that offers lots of different little gadgets and as for applying the lotion, maybe you could squirt some out into a little basin and then set it on the floor and just stick your feet in it and rub your feet around, that way you wouldnt have to reach down. I hope that works better for you!
Single Ezy™ Sock Helper
Assists caregivers in putting on socks, compression or regular stockings.
These sturdy helpers are made of steel with smooth plastic coatings. Socks or stockings are simply stretched continuously over the columns and toes are inserted. The continued upward motion pulls the sock all the way on and pulls the stocking or panty-hose up to the knees for final positioning.
