Things You'll Need:
- a fair knowledge of astrology
- your own natal chart
- a male/female checklist grid
- optional: the natal charts of your lover, friends, and family for more practice
-
Step 1
Get your natal chart, and examine the placements of your Sun, Moon, and the 8 usual planets in your chart. For example, I have my Sun in Aries, my Moon in Pisces, my Jupiter in Scorpio, my Pluto in Virgo, et cetera. Carefully note each and every placement.
-
Step 2
Also note the sign placements of these additional points: Earth, Chiron, Ascendant, and Midheaven. Now where on Earth does your Earth fall on? You can't find it overtly in your chart, but it is directly opposite the placement of your Sun. For example, since my Sun is in Aries, then my Earth is in Libra, which is the astrological opposite of Aries. Refer to the basic principles of astrological opposites. So where is your chart's Earth? Now also note the placement of your Chiron, Ascendant, and Midheaven, as mentioned earlier. For example, my Chiron is in Aries, my Ascendant is Leo, and my Midheaven is in Taurus.
-
Step 3
All in all, you should get a total of 14 factors: To recap, count all 10 planets (Sun & Moon are included in this count), Earth, Chiron, Ascendant, and Midheaven.
-
Step 4
Here's the fun part: determine which of your natal placements are male or female. If your planet or point falls on a Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)or Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) sign, count it as male. Conversely, if your planet or point falls on an Earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) or a Water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) sign, count it as female. Do this male/female assignment for all the 14 factors in your chart.
-
Step 5
Add separately the male and female totals, respectively. For example, in my chart, the total comes up to 7 male and 7 female, an even balance. This means that I am a "Centered" person. If you have considerably more female components in your chart (say, 10 to 4 or 13 to 1), you are a "Pleasure" person. On the other hand, more male elements make you a "Power" person. A couple of famous examples: Keanu Reeves is 13 female-1 male (yes, even though he is male)so he is more feminine (not effeminate, though!) and Angelina Jolie is 13 male-1 female (although she is female)so she is more masculine!
-
Step 6
What is a Centered person? She/he is a self-sufficient person, with emotions mostly on an even keel. A Power person needs to lead, give, and assert, while a Pleasure person needs to follow, receive, and acquiesce. You can infer other personality characteristics for each type by using your common sense and creativity.
-
Step 7
Determine your compatibility with the other people in your life by figuring out their male/female totals, too. Obviously, Centered persons get along best with fellow Centered persons, and so forth. You can always find complementing combinations, like the Pleasure-Power couple, Centered-Power, or Pleasure-Centered. The key is to find which role you need to play with each combination and situation you find yourself in.
-
Step 8
The key to successful relationships in life is to know the male-female energy balance in your chart and those you interact with, and then act out your roles accordingly. To enhance success in any relationship, there must be one leader and one follower, one male and one female (in terms of energy and not necessarily by sex), one giver and one receiver. In short, we must learn to complement one another based on our own energy and being true to ourselves!

on 11/4/2007 I really don't know very much at all about astrology , but it looks like your step by step article will help those that do understand about astrology. Thank you.
