If you lock your keys in the car you can get in with very little trouble. Here's how.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wire coat hanger, dowel rod or other long rod.
  • Triangular door stop
  1. Step 1

Take the triangular door stop and wedge it between the glass of your window and the door of the car. The glass is pretty strong and probably will not break, but the weather stripping on your window may leak a little.

  2. Step 2

Make a sufficient space between the window and the door to allow the wire coat hanger in and use it to press the unlock button.

  3. Step 3

If you have manual door locks, use the hooked part of the coat hanger to pull or push the lock to the open position.

  4. Step 4

Open the door, remove the door stop the same way you put it in, retrieve your keys and go about your business!

Tips & Warnings
  • Rubber door stops are much less likely to damage your car's window or weather stripping.
  • Doing this will set off any good alarm system so be sure to have proof it's your car.
