How to Make Singapore Noodles

Singapore noodles tends to be flavorful. It has a heavy curry taste, but that should not deter you from trying it out. Make it spicy or mild. Here's how you do it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 pound dry yellow noodles
  • 2 skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 carrots, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1/4 cup water
Step1
Bring a pot of water to boil. Blanch the noodles in boiling water for two minutes. Remove from water and set aside.
Step2
In a deep skillet or fry pan, toss in the chicken and garlic in the oil over medium-high heat until golden grown and aromatic.
Step3
Reduce heat to medium-low, and add the onion, carrots and water; cover and steam for 5 minutes.
Step4
Mix in the curry powder and soy sauce.
Step5
Stir for 4 to 5 minutes until it is well blended.
Step6
Toss with noodles, and serve with the option of hot pepper sauce and soy sauce as condiments.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try adding shrimp and pork for more flavor.
  • You can add more vegetables like celery for more texture.
  • Don't add too much soy sauce, it'll get too salty.
