There are so many last minute things to do right before the holidays. It's nice to have one thing done ahead of time. You can have cookies that taste freshly baked even though you made them 1-3 months earlier by properly using your freezer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Separate your crisp cookies from your chewy cookies.

  2. Step 2

Store cookies in freezer containers between layers of wax paper and seal tightly.

  3. Step 3

    Label and date your containers

  4. Step 4

Thaw cookies in the original container at room temperature.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can freeze rolled and drop cookies for up to 3 months
  • You can freeze soft, jam-filled cookies for up to 1 month
  • If you mix your crisp cookies with your chewy cookies the crispy ones will absorb moisture from the chewy ones and lose their crunch
  • If you remove cookies from the original container before thawing condensation will form on the cookies. Leave them in the container so the condensation stays on the wrapping.
