It's funny how it goes--those with curly hair want straight hair and those with straight hair want curly hair. It's fortunate that inventors came up with appliances to help in the quest to turn curly hair into straight hair.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Electric hair straightener
  • Hair spray
  • Barrettes or clips
  1. Step 1

Separate your hair into small sections using the barrettes or clips. It's a good idea to have the hair straightener heating up during this step.

  2. Step 2

Start with a small section in the back of your head and use the straightener to straighten it. If you start at the back and work your way to the front you don't have to worry about messing up the front sections as you would if you went from front to back.

  3. Step 3

Once you've run the straightener through your hair once, spray hair spray over your hair.

  4. Step 4

Repeat the straightening process, again starting from the back and moving to the front.

Tips & Warnings
  • These steps works for people with really curly hair. For those with wavy hair, you may only have to go through the hair once.

on 7/23/2009 I have to agree. I have naturally curly hair and have tried just about everything in the article and mor to get it just right. You have to remember that is your hair is curly it is becuase it holds moisture. If you want it to look right you have to lockin tha tmoisture and hairspray does not do that but freezes it and makes it hard which you don't want becuase for curly hair this is very damaging. There are some sprays that work wonders but must not contain alchohol as this is very damaging for curly hair. You cannot use the same products on straight hair that you would use on curly. One thing to remember is to condition, condition, condition, this is the key to maintaining your curls. Use a cream base and not too much oil in it. If you do this daily you will not feel the need to freeze it with hairspray. For a great hold without the freeze hairspray offers try a heat protection pro...
