Even if you're really far away from your loved one, there are a few routines that you might want to get into, to make it feel a little bit more like you're in each other's lives -- even if not always physically. Here are a few ideas for ways to remind each other that you're both loved and in love.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Send each other a package each week. It doesn't matter if there's something expensive inside it or just a simple leaf, as long as it is something that reminds you of the other person. Don't let it become a chore; instead, think of it as a way that you can show your significant other that you're thinking of them on a day to day basis. Pick up snacks at the store that s/he likes, tear out an article from a magazine, or send one of your articles of clothing, sprayed with your cologne or perfume.

  2. Step 2

Don't feel like you HAVE TO talk on the phone multiple times a day. If you're not big phone people, call when you have news to share or something to say. Or, call just to say, "I love you," but don't feel obligated to talk at length. This will make the times you do talk at length more meaningful.

  3. Step 3

Surprise each other! If your significant other says, "I really wish you could be here this weekend," and you only have unimportant errands on your agenda, hop a flight and show up with flowers and a bottle of wine for a date.
