How to Convert MSWMM to MPEG to Burn a Slideshow Onto a CD

Need to know how to save a Windows Movie Maker file so you can play it back on your computer, burn it to CD, send it in an email or upload it to the web?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet
  • Windows Movie Maker
  1. Step 1
    Save Project
     
    Save Project

    After you've completed your project, save your project file.

  2. Step 2
    Save Movie File...
     
    Save Movie File...

    Click on File and then Save Movie File...

  3. Step 3
    Select your option
     
    Select your option

    Click on the option you want. Save your movie for playback on your computer, Save your movie for copying to a recordable CD, or Save and send your movie as an e-mail attachment by using your default e-mail program. If you want to upload your movie to the web, don't click on that option. Skip to step 5. Otherwise, click next.

  4. Step 4

    Follow the instructions for the option you selected.

    Select My Computer
     
    Select My Computer

    To upload your movie to the web, select My Computer and click next.

  6. Step 6
    Enter file name
     
    Enter file name

    Enter a name for your file and where you want to save it. Click next.

  7. Step 7
    Enter file size
     
    Enter file size

    If there is a limit on how big your file can be, e.g. 15MB, you will need to select Best fit to file size and enter the limit of what size the file can be. Click next. When it finishes converting it will be ready to upload to the web.

  • Youtube.com and Photobucket.com will let you upload, store and share your videos free of charge.
