Naturally Minimize Ezcema Symptoms

Wouldn’t it be great if relieving eczema symptoms could be done without medication? That is the purpose of my how-to article. I hope you will find encouragement as you read through the steps I have found to be essential information for anyone suffering from eczema.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make sure you are not dehydrated. Did you know that something as simple as cutting out soda can increase your body’s hydration dramatically? If you’re like many of us out there, you don’t consume enough water. You should be consuming at least ½ your body weight in ounces per day and more if caffeine (that acts like a diuretic) is part of your diet.

  2. Step 2

Sometimes your eczema can be relieved by identifying and avoiding allergic substances like foods and chemicals you may be reacting to. However, it’s not that easy to identify these culprits. An elimination diet where you abstain from the suspected foods for a few days and then re-introduce them one at a time while looking for a reaction is helpful. There are other ways to identify these culprits like seeing a natural doctor who is experienced in MRT (Muscle Response Test) can really help identify allergens. Any way you choose, it is one of the first things to think about when trying to minimize your symptoms.

  3. Step 3

Be careful about which medications you are using to relieve your symptoms. Many (likely ALL) medications have side effects that will cause you harm. Make sure you read the fine print side effects on these medications before you use them. Juggling one symptom for another is not in your best interest. You will see in the next step that there IS another way which is free from the influence of side effects and is extremely effective.

  4. Step 4

A corrective diet is probably the most effective way to relieve your symptoms. In fact, if your eczema is diet related (96% of eczema symptoms are), a diet high in Vitamins A and B may go further than any other method for controlling your symptoms. Vitamin A is your body’s main tool for repairing skin tissue and reducing dryness. It is fat soluble and stored in the liver so you only need to consume an adequate amount. Over consumption of anything, even healthy foods, can be damaging to your health, so eat even this in moderation. The very best way to get enough of it is in a good fish oil product but you can also find it in broccoli, spinach, and carrots. Vitamin B helps the circulation in your body bringing nutrients to every part (in this case we want this reaching your skin). Leafy vegetables, cereals and wheat germ are great ways to get this wonderful vitamin. This one is water soluble so it must be supplied frequently to the body for its important benefit.

  5. Step 5

Lastly, if you begin to see relief by the previous steps, I highly recommend furthering your diet approach by finding the very best diet and lifestyle for eczema. There are diets that have been proven to relieve eczema so dramatically, some would call it “the cure”. Eating a lot of life giving raw vegetables, and minimizing unhealthy contributors to your skin problem will go a long way in relieving your symptoms. In fact, you may even find that incorporating a diet specifically for eczema will cure it in 14 days or less! If you’re serious about trying the natural approach, I recommend reading further on this subject (some helpful links are posted below this article).

on 10/15/2009 My daughter had ezcema but when I cut baths/shower down to once a week, a few weeks and the symptoms started to disappear. She still is prone to drier skin than normal but I guess the natural oils in her skin don't get continually washed away which must help. Of course, it won't work for everyone but could it be worth giving it a try?

on 5/4/2009 You need to take 2-4,000 i.u of Vitamin D per day. In 3-6 weeks the itching, rash and lesions will go away. You have to keep taking the vitamin D after it goes away though. Once it has cleared up 2,000 i.u. per day should do.

on 11/2/2007 Ezcema is one of those conditions that appears to have no natural way to cure. But your advice is very logical and brings new hope to this health concern. Thank you.
