Step 1
Start by choosing a resort that is known for its romantic ambiance. In the East, these include Stowe, Stratton and Mont Tremblant. Western resorts known for their romantic atmosphere include Sun Valley,Idaho, Telluride, Colorado and Lake Louise, Banff. If you are planning to "tie the knot" on Valentine's Day, Loveland, in Colorado, presents Mountain Matrimony, which is an on-slope wedding ceremony.
-
Step 2
A Victorian Bed and Breakfast or a private condo will be more conducive to romance than an impersonal hotel. Unless you and your significant other are obsessed with getting "first tracks," consider staying off-slope. It will be quieter, and much more private.
-
Step 3
Even if you ski at different levels, plan to ski most of your runs together. Consider taking a day off from the slopes to enjoy a romantic cross-country or snowshoe hike.
-
Step 4
Before dinner, enjoy a soak in your private Jacuzzi. Go back to your room and give each other a massage.
-
Step 5
Plan a romantic dinner. Some ski resorts feature sleigh rides that bring you to a romantic dinner in a secluded cabin.
