How to Make Malaysian Chicken Curry

There are many different kinds of curries. Malaysian Chicken Curry is slightly spicy and more gravyish. Here's how you prepare this yummy dish!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 2 finely chopped onions
  • 1 tablespoon coriander
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 stalk fresh lemongrass
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoon curry powder
  1. Step 1

    Cut the chicken into pieces.

  2. Step 2

    In a blender, throw in the onions, coriander, garlic, turmeric, cumin, 1/2 cup coconut milk and lemongrass.

  3. Step 3

    In a skillet, heat up the oil on medium. Pour in the blended ingredients and fry it until the oil separates.

  4. Step 4

    Add the rest of the coconut milk.

  5. Step 5

    Throw in the chicken pieces and stir until they are all covered by the sauce.

  6. Step 6

    Let it come to a simmer and let it cook uncovered for an hour. The sauce will thicken and you will be left with a yummy chicken curry.

Tips & Warnings
  • Serve with jasmine rice
  • Check constantly to make sure the chicken does not dry up
  • Add more coconut milk if it does
