How to Send Text Messages From Your Web Browser

Have you ever wanted to send yourself a text message from your browser while surfing the Internet? Say you found a recipe that you liked and you wanted to keep it on your phone. Or you need driving directions. Well, here's the easiest way to do so.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Open up your web browser. Make sure you are already connected to the Internet at this point.

  2. Step 2

    Visit the following site: http://www.google.com/sendtophone

  3. Step 3

    Enter the required information:

    1. Phone Number
    2. Carrier (Sprint, AT&T, T-mobile, etc.)
    3. Subject and text of message to send.

  4. Step 4

    If you have already preselected the text from another site, simply paste it into the Text box on the site.

  5. Step 5

    Click on the 'Send' button. Google's Sendtophone service will have the text delivered to you within a few minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to keep the message within 160 characters
  • Google does not have a limit on messages sent, but don't abuse the service
  • If the sending fails, try again in a few minutes
