Working out those knots we often get doesn't have to be hard on the hands. I will tell you how to help someone get rid of those pesky aches and your hands won't be hurting you when your done.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A few minutes of your time!
  1. Step 1

The first step is to have the person that you will be working on sit on the floor in front of you. Or you can have them sitting in a chair (like the kitchen chair that will allow you access to their back).

  2. Step 2

Now once the person you are working on is comfortable place your hands on their shoulders and with gentle squeezing notice how tight their shoulders are. Also notice where their shoulder blades are and where the spine is located. These areas you will not want to put pressure on. Believe me if you do they will let you know!

  3. Step 3

Now with your elbow gently start to lean into the top part of the shoulder area. You will want to get feedback from the person you are working on as to when they feel there is enough pressure. Remember you are leaning into the area - not jabbing the area. You will use your elbow to work down along the upper part of the back near the spine - but NOT on the spine.

  4. Step 4

Each area that you work - you will be communicating with the person you are working on. You will need to know if the pressure is alright - do they need you to push harder or go to the left or the right - or maybe work the area a little bit higher or lower. They will help to guide you as you work effortlessly to help relieve those achy knots we all tend to get.
