How to make a simple favorite logo lampshade

Easy step by step instructions that you and your children can have fun with, just pick your favorite team logo and get started!

Things You’ll Need:

• Computer
• Printer
• 8 by 11 glossy photo paper
• jute string
• old lamp shade
• sharp knife
• scissors
• hole puncher

1. Take an old lamp shade and cut the material with a sharp knife until you are down to the bare wire frame,( this step is not recommendable for children) To get the sticky goo of the frame use liquid fabric softner,( the cheap brand works just as good.) Just dab it on and let sit for two minutes, Voila! It comes right off.
2. Put your bare frame back on the lamp , secure it and now you are ready for step 3.
3. Find your favorite logo on a site that allows copy and Paste , or save image. Copy it to Word Perfect and size it the way you want. In the image provided the measurements are 4" by 3". Once sized you can fit 6 on 1 page of glossy photo paper. To do this select your image , scroll down and select rotate 90 degrees. Once you have 6 lined up horizontal on the page, test it first with regular paper to make sure you have the right size to fit 6 horizontally.This step is where your family can help you, cut 5" of jute string , put aside. Cut out logo's with scissors and punch 4 holes . The holes have to be cut in the center of each side. To make this easier do one logo then lay each one after under the initial one to make the holes in the exact place. For my lamp I made 24 with 4 holes and 8 with 3 holes. The 8 with three holes are for the bottom to make a straight edge.
4. * Take your 5" jute and connect the first logo to the wire on your lamp. Then just add more and keep connecting each whole. Remember to make sure your logo's all in the right direction or you will have to untie which can make the project frustrating. There you have it, a funky logo lamp that can be put in any room with any design.

Tips & Warnings

• You can skip the whole process of the printing if you have already old baseball cards or hockey cards, you can even do one with the latest fad such as Webkins! The fun part is you can select what ever card of your choice, my next project is to make my own design with famous quotes! Have fun!
• Make sure when cutting the material of the lamp that you have a grown up do it and make sure the knife is pointing away from you always.
