How to Plan a Boys Preteen Birthday Party

A Boys Preteen party symbolizes his journey to becoming a young man. For his special day make it fun for him and easy for you. Making him apart of the birthday planning will be exciting for him and it will teach him responsibility.

Instructions

1. Pick a base theme for the birthday party, "A boy's night birthday celebration." This will cut the guest list and the cost in half.

2. Have your preteen make a guest list of five close friends.

3. Having the party at home will cut down on the cost and give you more options.

4. Choosing the activities first will help you when shopping for decorations. If your preteen has a game system, have a game battle party. Give away prize bags instead of the normal gift bags.

5. Have your preteen pick the games that will be played; you can always rent the newer games from a local video store. Have your preteen pick a movie that will be played while everyone is eating.

6. Have your preteen make the invitations on the computer and print them out. Send the invitations out early and make sure you put RSVP on each of them. Have the guest dress in sports jerseys or as a character from the video game.

7. Decorate the party room with the preteen' s favorite color or choose a sports theme. Party supply stores and department stores have a wide variety of plates, cups, prizes and decorations to select from.

8. Transform your den or living room into a "boys pad" with an ice chest filled with soda and water. A radio player for jamming and a couple of sports posters taped on the wall.

9. Find a specialty bakery that can make a birthday cake in the design of the game system. Order pizza for the food, have small bags of chips and fruit for snacks.

10. Set up your television and the game system to play. Split the guest into two groups to compete, make sure each child gets a chance to play. While the kids are playing the games, order the pizza.

11. When it's time to eat put in the movie and relax for a moment. Next cut the cake, open gifts and continue playing video games until the parents arrive. If you time it right the birthday guest will start to leave shortly after your preteen opens his gifts.
