How to Celebrate National Talk Like a Pirate Day

Grr, matey! September 19 is national Talk Like a Pirate Day and time to celebrate! Talk Like a Pirate Day has recently become an international event. Each year, many people recognize Talk Like a Pirate Day in a myriad of ways. Here are some suggestions for celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day:

   Celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day

   Bring pirate booty to work or school and talk to your coworkers (or fellow students and teachers) in your best pirate accent. Wear a name tag with your pirate name (take a pirate name test online first). You may want to mention that it is Talk Like a Pirate Day.

2. Throw a pirate theme party in recognition of Talk Like a Pirate Day. Wear a pirate costume, decorate the room like a pirate ship, and send out pirate-theme invitations announcing the Talk Like a Pirate Day celebration. Note on the invite (e-vites are fine) that guests should prepare to talk like a pirate at the get-together.

3. Send friends a Talk Like a Pirate Day e-card and include a link for them to find out their real pirate names and learn how to talk like a pirate.
